This question was recently posed by the Realtor.com Blogging Team:

In the spirit of David Letterman - we are looking to compile a Top 10 list of the best client experiences.  Please share with us the best experience you’ve ever had with a client.

While we have had a great many experiences with our clients here in Hernando County, and all of them have truly been wonderful (or at the very least educational), there is one in particular that Natalie (my assistant) and I feel stands out from the rest.

We met this client while doing an open house for one of our sellers in Spring Hill… It was around 5:30pm and raining that day and the soon-to-be “buyers” just happened to be driving down Spring Hill Drive when they saw our Open House signs and decided to stop in.  While they didn’t buy that particular piece of Spring Hill Real Estate - it was definitely the start of a fun ride.

After briefly discussing their needs at the open house, I called my assistant and had her start searching the MLS - within a few minutes we had 5 homes to see in Spring Hill, and we set off to view the vacant ones while my assistant set up appointments for the ones that were owner occupied.  We ended up at 9pm that night going to dinner at a local restaurant while discussing the homes we looked at, their current situation, both of our families, and their goals and aspirations…and about an hour and a half later, called it a night.

Turns out they had a home that was currently on the market in Michigan (which they needed to sell in order to complete a purchase here in Spring Hill, Florida) and they were moving here for a job transfer/promotion, so everything had to happen before the transfer/promotion took effect.  We now had a goal…and a timeline…and a budget…and several “dominoes” that had to fall in order for everything to work out properly… Good times, right?  Absolutely!

After viewing several more homes and getting a much better feel for the things they liked and didn’t like about each one, I had a brainstorm.  Through my network of friends & builders, I knew of one builder in particular that was blowing out their last few homes in a gated community called Sterling Hill.  Turns out they had one left, and my buyers LOVED it!  It had the big kitchen, the granite countertops, the 42″ wood cabinets, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, a 2 car garage, over 2,000 SF Living Area, and was in a gated community with a playground for their son…and to top things off…they’d just received an offer on their home in Michigan!

After much discussion between them, myself, and their agent in Michigan, they decided it was in their best interest to keep things moving forward, sell the home in MI for just a bit less than they ideally wanted (because they knew I was getting them an incredible deal here in Spring Hill, Florida) and make the offer on the builder’s inventory home.

Not only did we get all the dominoes to fall properly, we also managed to get them into their new home at 15% below market because the builder wanted ‘out’!

The week after closing on their new home we all went out to dinner in Tarpon Springs (The Sponge Docks area has some wonderful Greek restaurants - check out Mama’s if you’re ever in the area!) and while walking around we found a local art store (Art on the Docks) that had an absolutely fantastic painting.  We picked it up for them as a surprise closing gift and it’s still on the wall in their Living Room.

They are now about a year into their new home environment and are doing phenomenally well.  I just found out that the husband recently got promoted (again) and it’s absolutely wonderful to see that they are still happy and loving their new home and the Florida Lifestyle.

All the dominoes fell into place, and everything worked out just the way they’d hoped - and we were thrilled to be such an integral part of the process.
